Sanctuary

As I was creating this project I selected images with these themes in mind: peace, shelter, holy places, trusted companions, and being in love.

Some photos are whimsical and bring me back to the nostalgia of childhood memories.

Nature, specifically the beach, is a place of refuge for me where I feel connected to God and escape from the chaos of the world.  Many of these photos were taken in moments of stillness, appreciating the different parts of this beautiful world we live in and the creatures that inhabit it.

While selecting these photos, I kept seeing symbols of Christ. For me, He is not only a trusted companion but dwells in holy places and, through His Atonement, provided safety for us to return from our mistakes.

Something I love about photographing people is capturing, in a moment, a strong connection between partners, friends, and family.
Often times a person can be that place of sanctuary that we long for.
